Aspire Cohort 1 | September 3, 2026 - April 20, 2027 | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Aspire® is a professional development opportunity designed for all educators who teach middle school (grades 6-9). This training equips ELA and content-area teachers in implementing adaptable, evidence-based strategies rooted in the Science of Reading to assist students with improving their reading and writing. Aspire® empowers educators with the knowledge and tools needed to support students struggling with literacy, fostering proficient readers and writers in the classroom.
This training requires a one-year commitment consisting of:
- Attending an Aspire® Kick-off either July 29, July 30 or August 4
- Participating in four face-to-face training sessions
- Completing online training and Bridge to Application activities
- All work must be completed by May 31, 2027
Session 1: Thursday, September 3, 2026
Session 2: Tuesday, November 10, 2026
Session 3: Tuesday, January 12, 2027
Session 4: Tuesday, April 20, 2027
Bev Colombo serves all our member districts by providing Dyslexia training and support. Bev was an English and Special Education Teacher for over 20 years as well as an Instructional Facilitator in Curriculum and Instruction, an Instructional and Behavior Coach and the Director of a nonprofit research center. Bev is passionate about research and translating it into practice - specifically in regards to reading and literacy as well as the social and emotional health and self-efficacy of students.

Cancellations made more than 10 business days before the event start date will incur a 20% cancellation fee.
Cancellations made 10 business days or less are not eligible for a refund.
If an event is cancelled due to inclement weather or low enrollment, a full refund will be issued.
No-shows will be billed in full.
