Aspire Cohort 1 | September 8, 2025 - February 24, 2026 | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Aspire® is a professional development opportunity designed for all educators who teach middle school (grades 6-9). This training equips ELA and content-area teachers in implementing adaptable, evidence-based strategies rooted in the Science of Reading to assist students with improving their reading and writing. Aspire® empowers educators with the knowledge and tools needed to support students struggling with literacy, fostering proficient readers and writers in the classroom.
This training requires a one-year commitment consisting of:
- Attending a virtual Aspire® Kick-off in July or at the beginning of August
- Participating in three face-to-face training sessions
- Completing online training and Bridge to Application activities
- All work must be completed by May 15th
Session 1: Monday, September 8, 2025
Session 2: Thursday, November 20, 2025
Session 3: Tuesday, February 24, 2026
Dana Humphrey serves all of our member districts as a literacy consultant. Dana has 32 years in public education as a middle school ELA teacher and district ELA curriculum coordinator. She has worked many years with EdPlus as a literacy consultant and MEES trainer. She is passionate about helping teachers to understand the depth and breadth of the Missouri learning standards to infuse high-quality literacy instruction in all content areas.

Cancellations made more than 10 business days before the event start date will incur a 20% cancellation fee.
Cancellations made 10 business days or less are not eligible for a refund.
If an event is cancelled due to inclement weather or low enrollment, a full refund will be issued.
No-shows will be billed in full.
