Getting Started on National Board Certification | September 12, 2026 | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

This one-day session will get you started with the National Board certification process. If you have registered to become a candidate, this will help your journey to certification. If you haven’t made that commitment yet, this session will help you make an informed decision on whether or not to become a candidate.
This session provides a basic orientation to the purpose and requirements of the certification process. You will review the National Board’s core propositions, standards and the “Architecture of Accomplished Teaching.” Other topics will include the costs, time frame and requirements of the four components you must complete as part of the process. There will be a brief analysis of the standards, instructions and scoring guides of each of the four components. You will gain an understanding of how to start work on the components.
