LETRS: The Science of Reading Volume 1 Cohort 2 |September 4, 2025 - April 2, 2026 |8:30 AM -3:30 PM
As part of the LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) cohort, teachers will learn the science of reading in order to apply research in the classroom and meet the literacy needs of early learners. Teachers will gain practical strategies to use regardless of curriculum or program currently in place.
LETRS materials include a text and online modules. Participants will receive the materials from: 1) a DESE shipment to the district; 2) EdPlus at the first session; or 3) the district purchase from Lexia.
Per Lexia and state directives, all LETRS participants must attend a mandatory Launch session. These will be held on July 30 or July 31 for two hours. More details will be emailed once your registration has been processed.
Attendance is required at all four sessions:
Unit 1: Thursday, September 4, 2025
Unit 2: Wednesday, November 5, 2025
Unit 3: Thursday, January 29, 2026
Unit 4: Thursday, April 2, 2026
