This PD is being hosted by Rockwood School District, but is open to teachers in other districts.

As part of the LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) cohort, teachers will learn the science of reading in order to apply research in the classroom and meet the literacy needs of early learners. Gain practical strategies to use regardless of curriculum or program currently in place.

LETRS materials include a text and online modules. Participants will receive the materials from: 1) a DESE shipment to the district; 2) EdPlus at the first session; or 3) the district purchase from Lexia.

Per Lexia and state directives, all LETRS participants must attend a mandatory Launch. These will be held on July 29 or July 30 or August 4 for two hours. More details will be emailed once your registration has been processed.

Attendance is required at all four sessions:
Unit 1: Wednesday, September 2, 2026
Unit 2: Wednesday, October 14, 2026
Unit 3: Tuesday, February 2, 2027
Unit 4: Tuesday, March 30, 2027
