LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) Volume 2 units address each essential component of reading instruction and the foundational concepts that link each component. Units 5-8 focus specifically on oral language and vocabulary, understanding reading comprehension, text-driven comprehension instruction and the reading-writing connection.

Completion of LETRS Volume 1 (Units 1 - 4) is a prerequisite for Volume 2.

LETRS materials include a text and online modules. Participants will receive the materials from: 1) a DESE shipment to the district; 2) EdPlus at the first session; or 3) the district purchase from Lexia.

Attendance is required at all four sessions:
Unit 5: Wednesday, September 3, 2025
Unit 6: Tuesday, October 28, 2025
Unit 7: Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Unit 8: Tuesday, March 31, 2026

Bev Colombo serves all our member districts by providing Dyslexia training and support. Bev was an English and Special Education Teacher for over 20 years as well as an Instructional Facilitator in Curriculum and Instruction, an Instructional and Behavior Coach and the Director of a nonprofit research center. Bev is passionate about research and translating it into practice - specifically in regards to reading and literacy as well as the social and emotional health and self-efficacy of students.

Cancellations made more than 10 business days before the event start date will incur a 20% cancellation fee.

Cancellations made 10 business days or less are not eligible for a refund.

If an event is cancelled due to inclement weather or low enrollment, a full refund will be issued.

No-shows will be billed in full.

The cancellation policy applies to all forms of payment including Learning Service Credits.
