MAP-A The Second Time and Beyond | September 24, 2026 | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
This session will take your knowledge of MAP-A assessment process to the next level. Explore how to embed the alternative standards (essential elements) in daily instruction for your students with significant cognitive impairment while building student knowledge and growth toward their target for each testlet. Review any annual updates to the assessment process, as well as the educator portal.
Additional time after the session will provide an opportunity to plan for instruction using the blueprint for essential elements.
Kathy Russ serves school districts throughout the state by providing professional development for teachers and paraeducators in topics that support the needs of students with disabilities in all class settings. She has over 29 years of experience in education in special education, speech-language therapy and school leadership, including roles as Assistant Principal and Principal. Kathy is passionate about ensuring all students receive robust instruction and thrive under high expectations.
