MTDS: BTAP Year 1 Ft. Zumwalt | September 16, 2026 - April 6, 2027 | 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
This is a site-based PD for Ft. Zumwalt School District staff only.
Beginning teachers are one of our greatest assets. Yet 17% of teachers leave the career within the first five years. Research shows effective professional development is a key factor in teacher retention, and as teachers enter the career, a collaborative community of learners can help teachers transition from their role as a student to that of teacher.
This program is part of the Missouri Teacher Development System.
MTDS Beginning Teacher Assistance Program Year 1 (BTAP1) meets the first year of Missouri's BTAP certification requirements.
This opportunity provides:
*consultant support
*networking with other new teachers and educational consultants
*just-in-time learning (critical firsts)
*awareness of the phases of a new teacher
*relationship-building skills
Attendance is required at all five sessions:
Session 1: Wednesday, September 16, 2026 | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Session 2: Wednesday, October 7, 2026 | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
