MTDS: Grow Your Own (GYO) Cohort | February 23, 2023 | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM CT
Missouri students need great teachers. Your role as a builder of the next generation of educators is so important! Together we can help build the future of Missouri teachers.
Join us for quarterly meetings if you are a designer/facilitator of a GYO club/chapter or class who wants to connect with other leaders who work with the next generation of educators, hear relevant guest speakers, learn about resources and opportunities that support your program and share the fantastic happenings of your group of future teachers.
Regional cohorts support the implementation and growth of GYO teacher recruitment programs in all Missouri school districts and charter schools. The state MTDS GYO Teacher Development Specialist, a former Ed Pathways Dual Credit Class Teacher and Ed Club Sponsor who completed doctoral work on Missouri’s GYO programs, will be facilitating cohort gatherings.
Diane Gillaspie serves EdPlus member districts by providing professional development to teachers in the beginning stages of their career to those who are seeking mastery. Diane has spent over 20 years in education, serving as a kindergarten and first grade teacher, instructional coach, director of curriculum and instruction and provided contracted professional development. She believes that our schools deserve teachers who have a high level of self-efficacy, love what they do and believe in their students.
Students today need a culturally sound classroom that understands and respects who they are as individuals and provides an engaging environment that is conducive to their personal learning style. Teachers need continuous support to grow their pedagogy and Diane seeks to be a part of their journey. At the end of the day, she is passionate about the empowerment and benefit of our students.
