MTDS: Mastering Foundations of Mentoring Gateway | October 21, 2026 - February 10, 2027
This is a site-based PD for Gateway Science Academy staff only.
As part of the MTDS (Missouri Teacher Development System), these sessions are designed to support educators who are currently mentoring new teachers or interested in mentoring. Connect and collaborate with other mentors, gain strategies to support mentees and brainstorm questions and issues that may arise during the mentor process.
This opportunity provides:
- coaching, observation and feedback training and support
- consultant support
- networking with other mentor teachers
- opportunities to apply newly acquired skills with beginning teachers
- competency-based programming
Session 1: Wednesday, October 21, 2026
Session 2: Wednesday, November 18, 2026
Session 3: Wednesday, February 10, 2027
Emily Hilligoss serves our member districts by providing professional development to support new teachers. Emily has been in education for nine years serving as a library clerical aide, secondary ELA teacher, and as a district curriculum and instructional coach. She was a 2022 St. Louis Regional Teacher of the Year and a semi-finalist for the state of Missouri. Emily believes that building relationships both in and out of the classroom is the foundation upon which we grow. She is passionate about supporting and empowering teachers to confidently and effectively help students reach success.

If an event is cancelled due to inclement weather or low enrollment, a full refund will be issued.
No-shows will be billed in full.
