You made it through year one, but your learning never stops! Continue your growth as an emerging teacher. Purposeful Lesson Planning (formerly BTAP B) offers continued support for early career teachers.

Participants will receive a copy of Mike Rutherford's book The Artisan Teacher.

Purposeful Lesson Planning is part of the Missouri Teacher Development System and is open to any teacher who has completed a Beginning Teacher Assistance Program in Missouri.

This opportunity provides:

  • access to on-demand learning, including Mike Rutherford’s MTDS series
  • consultant support
  • networking with other teachers
  • competency-based programming

Session 1: Thursday, September 5, 2024
Session 2: Thursday, November 14, 2024
Session 3: Thursday, February 13, 2025
Session 4: Tuesday, April 15, 2025

Emily Hilligoss serves our member districts by providing professional development to support new teachers. Emily has been in education for nine years serving as a library clerical aide, secondary ELA teacher, and as a district curriculum and instructional coach. She was a 2022 St. Louis Regional Teacher of the Year and a semi-finalist for the state of Missouri. Emily believes that building relationships both in and out of the classroom is the foundation upon which we grow. She is passionate about supporting and empowering teachers to confidently and effectively help students reach success.

Cancellations made more than 10 business days before the event start date will incur a 20% cancellation fee.

Cancellations made 10 business days or less are not eligible for a refund.

If an event is cancelled due to inclement weather or low enrollment, a full refund will be issued.

No-shows will be billed in full.

The cancellation policy applies to all forms of payment including Learning Service Credits.
