This is a site-based PD for Gateway Science Academy staff only.

Learning to lead other teachers is a way to give back to our profession, but it does not have be through the lens of an administrator. This is a cohort of teachers who want to grow as leaders to make a bigger impact but remain in the classroom. Participants will get to choose their own learning based on the MTDS domains, as well as have the opportunity to help guide the learning of other regional teachers in another MTDS learning level. We will meet four times as a cohort, with the remaining days dedicated to the MTDS level of the participant’s choice.

Diane Gillaspie serves EdPlus member districts by providing professional development to teachers in the beginning stages of their career to those who are seeking mastery. Diane has spent over 20 years in education, serving as a kindergarten and first grade teacher, instructional coach, director of curriculum and instruction and provided contracted professional development. She believes that our schools deserve teachers who have a high level of self-efficacy, love what they do and believe in their students. Students today need a culturally sound classroom that understands and respects who they are as individuals and provides an engaging environment that is conducive to their personal learning style. Teachers need continuous support to grow their pedagogy and Diane seeks to be a part of their journey. At the end of the day, every bit of work she is passionate about is for the empowerment and benefit of our students.
