Mental health challenges can affect anyone, including young people. As caring adults, educators and community members, it is crucial that we equip ourselves with the tools and knowledge to support the emotional well-being of our youth. The Youth Mental Health First Aid workshop is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence needed to recognize signs of mental health distress in young individuals and offer initial assistance until professional help can be obtained.

Learn how to respond with the steps identified in the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan - ALGEE.
This session is geared for teachers, school staff, coaches, camp counselors, youth group leaders, parents and adults who work with youth.
John Converse is an International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) Certified Trainer and serves all our member districts through customized professional development. Most recently he has worked with Washington, Kirkwood and Francis Howell school districts on Restorative Practices training. John has worked in education for over 13 years including serving as an Administrator and Teacher in a high-risk, low-income district for more than 10 years. He is passionate about building relationships between students, teachers and community members
Lindsay Schmidt serves our members by helping to develop behavioral systems of support, facilitate professional development for beginning teachers and is an ISTE Certified Educator and Trainer. Lindsay has worked in education for over 12 years as a Classroom Teacher, Consultant and Professional Development Facilitator. Her background is in elementary and early childhood education, special education, math, science and technology. Lindsay is passionate about empowering educators, building capacity, and action planning to increase positive outcomes for educators and students.
