Metacognition and Discovery Education-PM Session | March 20, 2025 | 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM CT
This session opens with an SOS, Half the Picture, to model the thinking process. After unpacking the what, why and how of metacognition, be immersed in a Ready-to-Use Activity that showcases how to provide think time with content. Attendees will be provided time for independent exploration to find strategies that they can use in their classroom.
Janice has spent the last 15 years in classrooms in Canada, USA and South Africa. She is licensed in four high school subject areas - Mathematics, Social Studies, Physical Education and Health. For the last five years, she has concentrated on curriculum development and implementation of Global Citizenship, Digital Citizenship and integration of Service Learning school-wide. Janice also has a strong working knowledge of the International Baccalaureate program. Janice joined the Discovery Education Professional Development team in 2016.
