Restorative Practices Academy XXXII | January 15, 2025 - April 22, 2025 | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM CT
Restorative Practices is a framework for building community through authentic dialogue and responding to harmful behavior through processes that establish accountability, develop empathy and seek to make things right. This framework deepens the way all students/staff experience community and adds a restorative option to traditional discipline, rather than replacing it.
Restorative Practices reduce discipline, suspension and drop-out rates, address the educational priorities identified in the Ferguson Report and support social-emotional learning, trauma-informed schools and cultural proficiency.
This Academy will jump start a school's investment in a Restorative Culture, providing motivation, knowledge and skill training. It prepares a School Team to implement proactive Circles and develop a plan to introduce and integrate Restorative Justice options into a comprehensive discipline platform.
The Academy accepts Leadership Teams from Schools K-12, that include an administrator and educators who serve as counselors, teachers, ISS monitors or the equivalent. Minimum of 4; Maximum of 6.
