Restorative Practices is a framework for building community through authentic dialogue and responding to harmful behavior through processes that establish accountability, develop empathy and seek to repair harm. This framework deepens the way all students/staff experience community and adds a restorative option to traditional discipline, rather than replacing it.

Restorative Practices reduce discipline, suspension and drop-out rates, and support social-emotional learning, trauma-informed schools and cultural proficiency. It also creates a collective in which people are happier and more willing to meet other’s needs, which leads to higher attendance, a greater sense of belonging and less turnover.

Throughout the series school teams will learn from educators who are implementing it in both the school setting and their personal life. They will learn from those who have struggled with how it works and have seen the positive impact it has on all over their journey.

This Academy will jump start a school's investment in a Restorative Culture providing motivation, knowledge and skill training. School Teams will gain:
* A framework to implement Restorative Practices within their school community

* Deep understanding of how to build and maintain collective community

* Instructional strategies that are Restorative in nature

* Strategies for blending multiple SEL programs into a common culture and climate that is conducive to all

The Academy accepts Leadership Teams from Schools K-12, that include an administrator and educators who serve as counselors, teachers, ISS monitors or the equivalent. Minimum of 4; Maximum of 6.
