Teaching young students to write well can be difficult. This online professional development course is designed to help K - 2 educators teach writing skills. Based on research at the University of Kansas and others, young students can master the skill of writing. Explore the KU Sentence and Paragraph Writing strategies as well as instructional methods from other writing research. Discover strategies for assisting students to consistently write complete sentences, complicated sentences, well-organized paragraphs and different types of paragraphs.

The materials for this series, KU Fundamentals and Proficiency of Sentence Writing and the new Fundamentals of Paragraph Writing, are included in the cost of this series. Participants will be asked to submit some basic data about studentsí progress in paragraph writing and feedback about the new strategy for younger students.
